New Zealand is a beautiful country with a wide spectrum of opportunities. The nation is vastly run by migrant talents. The jaw-dropping scenic landscapes of the country are an attractive point for tourists across the world. And for the same reason, New Zealand sees a vast influx of tourists throughout the year. Understandably new Zealand’s economy depends vastly on the hospitality sector. Alongside providing coolness to the eyes, New Zealand provides an excellent work culture. The work-life balance makes New Zealand one of the popular choices among the migrant populace looking to work in foreign countries with better opportunities.

During the same process, New Zealand fears having a low-skilled workforce entering the nation due to its excellent perks. Also, a high demand among others means native new zealand people may get few career chances missing out on foreign talents.

To account for these issues, New Zealand has introduced a new visa called the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV). It aims to reduce New Zealand’s reliance on low-skilled migrant workers and make sure New Zealanders are first in line for jobs.

What is an Accredited Employer Work Visa?

The Accredited Employer Work Visa is a temporary work visa that replaced the old work visa in July 2022. It is for overseas workers who have a job offer from an accredited New Zealand employer. It will allow them to come to New Zealand to work. This ensures that only workers with the necessary skills and qualifications get the chance to come and work in New Zealand. The Accredited Employer Work Visa can help applicants to be eligible for a fast track to the residence.

To apply for this visa you must have a job offer from an accredited New Zealand employer.

Who are Accredited Employers?

An accredited employer is an employer who has been accredited by Immigration New Zealand. In simple words, these employers have better compliance with immigration New Zealand and immigration laws. The employers must register themselves to get accreditation to use accredited employer work visas to hire skilled workers. This brings more transparency to the hiring process. This system ensures that employers get a skilled workforce.

How to Apply?

The applicant must have a job offer from an accredited employer to be eligible to apply for the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV).  The applicant also needs to meet the necessary skills and qualifications for the job. You can apply for this visa online through the Immigration New Zealand website. Before you apply, make sure to gather all the necessary information and documents to support your application.

Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) is a positive attempt towards tackling the skilled labor shortage. It will help employers to hire workers with specifically required skills for up to three years.
