Ontario and British Columbia Select Provincial Nominee Program Candidates

Provincial Immigration Results (August 31st – September 6th)

Ontario

On September 5th, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted a draw through the French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream. The province issued 96 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores between 290 and 393.

The French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream is tailored for Francophone skilled workers aiming to settle in Ontario. To qualify, candidates must meet the federal Express Entry pool requirements through either the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC), possess specific work experience and language proficiency, hold a recognized degree, intend to live in Ontario, and demonstrate sufficient settlement funds. Candidates cannot apply directly; they must first receive a NOI from Ontario to proceed with their Permanent Residence (PR) application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

British Columbia

On September 4th, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) held two draws through various streams.

The first draw was a general selection across the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Streams. A total of 75 invitations were issued with a minimum score requirement of 128, except for the Entry and Semi-Skilled Stream which required a minimum score of 110.

The second draw targeted candidates with work experience in key sectors of British Columbia’s economy through the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams. The details are as follows:

  • 31 candidates in childcare required a minimum score of 83 for an invitation.
  • 33 candidates in childcare needed a minimum score of 89.
  • 19 candidates in childcare required at least a score of 99.
  • At least one candidate in childcare needed a minimum score of 80.

Closure of Saskatchewan’s Hard-to-Fill Skills Pilot

As of August 30, 2024, the Hard-to-Fill Skills Pilot under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has been permanently closed. No new applications or job approval forms will be accepted post this date. However, any applications already submitted with a valid Candidate-Specific Job Approval Letter will still be processed until completion.

The closure is intended to simplify immigration processes and improve settlement outcomes. While some program categories under SINP remain accessible, alternative pathways are still available for potential applicants.

The SINP will conduct information sessions covering alternative options on September 6 and 11, 2024. For additional support and information on this change, you can reach out via email or through the SINP’s contact channels.
