  • You are not eligible to apply for this visa if you have dependent children residing in New Zealand.
  • The applicant must have a certain English proficiency level acceptable to the government.
  • One must meet New Zealand’s health and character requirements.

The New Zealand government has set a minimum financial income to be eligible to sponsor a parent. The adult child must show income proof to the government. The income must be stable for at least two to three years. The minimum financial requirement will change for joint sponsors. It will increase with an additional parent.

If you have a strong application, you will be shortlisted for the EOI pool. The government will go through your profile thoroughly. If they find your application viable then they will invite you to apply for a visa under the parent-resident visa program beginning your journey of living in New Zealand indefinitely.
